Starting in Kigali, Rwanda and ending in Uganda, this cross-border safari offers a rare opportunity to experience two unforgettable gorilla encounters, diverse primates, spectacular landscapes, and the remarkable wildlife of East Africa’s most celebrated national parks.
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or pick up from your hotel, you will be welcomed by your driver guide and begin your journey with a Kigali city tour. Visit some of Rwanda’s important historical and cultural sites including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Nyamata Church, local markets, and other attractions that provide insight into Rwanda’s history and vibrant culture.
After the city tour, continue with a scenic drive northwards to Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and the magnificent Virunga Mountains before arriving at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers before beginning your first gorilla trekking adventure. Enter the bamboo forests of the Virunga Mountains in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.
Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing their behaviors, taking photographs, and watching them feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat.
After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening, enjoy a cultural or community walk to nearby villages where you can interact with local communities and learn about traditional Rwandan customs and way of life.

After spending one memorable hour with the gorillas, return from the forest and begin your transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions and beautiful savannah landscapes.

Begin the day with a morning game drive in the Ishasha sector, where you will search for the famous tree-climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and other wildlife species found in the area.
